Aquatic tardigrades in Poland – a review

چکیده
Abstract The diversity, distribution and ecology of aquatic Tardigrada in Poland remain poorly known. We reviewed the literature focused on tardigrades recognized only 15 taxa which were reported from various freshwater marine habitats. Among them, 12 are three taxa. Hypsibius dujardini is Poland’s most widely-distributed hygrophilous species, but it re presents rather a complex cryptic species their diagnosis requires integrative approaches. Most reports accidental findings mostly water bodies Tatra Mountains or lakes Masurian Lake District. Some also small ponds wastewater treatment plants other regions like Ma?opolska Wielkopolska Provinces.

Tardi-what? Tardigrades, also known as water bears, are a littlestudied phylum of animals. First discovered 230 years ago, there are at least 700 different species living on land, in fresh water and in the sea. The tardigrades represent a successful group of animals — in flourishing existence after about 600 million years of evolution — that could hold keys to the patterns and mechanisms by whi...
متن کاملAquatic Fungi Growing on Percid Fish Eggs (Percidae) in Poland
The authors investigated mycoflora developing on the eggs of three species of the percid fish. At total of 45 aquatic fungi (including 26 as parasites or necrotrophs) were noted. Pythium capillosum is a new record for Poland. The highest number of fungus species developed on eggs of all percids in water from the Biala river, which had the highest content of biogenic compounds.
